Every Family Has That Moment
You’re at your cousin’s place. Someone across the yard looks over, lifts a hand and starts walking toward you.
You wave back.
They walk right past you.
To the samosas.
We’ve all been there.
That’s the thing about family gatherings. There’s always an uncle asleep on the couch. Kids running through the house. Someone asking when we’re eating, even though they’ve already been snacking for an hour. Your mom is telling the same story she’s told a hundred times, and somehow everyone is still listening.
It’s loud. It’s a little chaotic. And honestly, that’s what makes it good.
The food is the easy part
Families can disagree about almost anything.
What time everyone was supposed to arrive. Who was bringing ice. Whether something happened in 2015 or 2016. Who said what to whom.
But put a hot plate of food in the middle of the table and, for a few minutes at least, everyone seems to agree.
People wander over. Someone grabs one before you’ve even put the plate down. The conversation pauses. And before long, you’re wondering if you should have made another tray.
That’s not really a marketing insight. That’s just family.
Summer doesn’t need an invitation
Some of the best summer gatherings aren’t planned weeks in advance.
Your neighbour walks over because you’re both outside. Your sister happens to be “in the area.” Someone brings a friend. Six people become twelve, and suddenly you’re feeding everyone.
